The 12 Days of Catmas: Day 1 - December Step It Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the December 2016 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The theme is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. My trigeminal neuralgia is making yet another painful and disruptive visit, but I really want to stamp, and cats make me happy so I decided to stamp some of them. I mean, stamp some images of cats onto projects...not stamp some of my actual cats. My hope is to share at least one new kitty kraft each day for a dozen days, and start a new annual tradition for my blog: The 12 Days of Catmas! I've seen several versions of this cat card running around Pinterest for a few years now, and I wanted to try one for myself:

Cute idea, right?? The Triple Banner Punch makes this card super easy, because it puts the tails--or EARS, in this case--on 3 sizes of strips: 1", 1-1/2", and 2". If you're clever and careful, you can fit some smaller and in between sizes down into the punch also, but it is specifically marked for those 3 sizes. The nose/eyes image comes from the Foxy Friends stamp set, and there are actually 3 different nose/eyes images, so you can use a different one on each kitty. The whiskers are just drawn on with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. You could easily make a good number of these fairly quickly.

Stampin' Supplies: Labeler Alphabet stamp set, Smoky Slate card stock, Soft Sky card stock, Whisper White card stock, Basic Black Archival ink pad, Basic Black marker, Metallic Sequins Assortment, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Triple Banner Punch.

The Step It Up version adds a lot more layers and texture...tails and whiskers! I'll be honest, it was very time consuming, and I used a LOT of different tools, but (I think) the results are pawsitively stunning >^..^<

Stampin' Supplies: Labeler Alphabet stamp set, Smoky Slate card stock, Soft Sky card stock, Whisper White card stock, Pink Pirouette card stock, Silver Metallic Foil card stock, Basic Black card stock, Basic Black Archival ink pad, Stampin' Sponge, Basic Black marker, Metallic Sequins Assortment, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Boho Chic Embossing Folder, Sparkle Embossing Folder, Seaside Embossing Folder, Triple Banner Punch, Fox Builder Punch (for smallest nose), Owl Builder Punch (eyes, hearts with tops cut off for bigger noses), Sprinkles Punch (smallest black pupils, tails), 1/16" Handheld Circle Punch, Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine.
